Australia
In my opinion, the most famous tourist destinations in Australia are its cities such as Canberra, the capital and the most important cultural centre of the country, and Sydney, the biggest city of Australia. Sydney’s main landmarks, the Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge, personify not only the city, but also the whole Australia. Besides, most visitors are attracted by the beautiful Australian nature and the Great Barrier Reef is among the most popular tourist attractions. It is the largest reef structure and marine park in the world and it has more different species of animals and plants than any other place in the world. The Great Barrier Reef is included in the World Heritage List of UNESCO and is top-visited among scuba divers, explorers and people who just want to admire the underwater life, including the gorgeous colourful corals. Another popular destination is Uluru, which is the world’s largest monolith, and one of Australia’s most famous natural wonders. Not only is the breathtaking rock incredibly impressive due to its size, but also due to the strange colours it reflects back from the sun at different times during the day. The most remarkable sight is at sunset.

Australia was isolated from the other world for a long time and its isolation has had a great effect on the evolution of its flora and fauna. That’s why Australia has unique animals, birds and plants. Another reason for this uniqueness is Australian climate which has greatly affected the animal and plant worlds of this continent. Many unique animals live here such as echidnas and platypuses, kangaroos and koalas, wombats and wallabies. Australia has more than 20,000 species of plants, 90% of which is endemic. Economists often talk about Australia’s mineral wealth, but one of the greatest treasures, its richest heritage is Australian flora and fauna.

Christmas in Australia is quite different from that of the Western World because Australia is ’the land down under’, and when the British celebrate Christmas, Australians have hot summer. That’s why sleigh rides and snowmen are impossible whereas beach time and outdoor activities are quite common. Santa Claus arrives at Australian beaches on a surfboard quite a change from sliding down a chimney! And he often wears a swimming suit or funny baggy shorts. The hot weather also affects the design of the Christmas tree. In Australia the tree is often some stringy shrub. And instead of holly and mistletoe the Australians often use local plants — Christmas bush and Christmas bell.

IRELAND

Ireland is an island to the northwest of continental Europe. It is the third-largest island in Europe and the twentieth-largest island on Earth. To its east is the larger island of Great Britain, from which it is separated by the Irish Sea.

Politically, the island is divided between the Republic of Ireland, which covers just under five-sixths of the island, and Northern Ireland, a part of the United Kingdom, which covers the remainder and is located in the northeast of the island. The population of Ireland is approximately 6.4 million. Just under 4.6 million live in the Republic of Ireland and just under 1.8 million live in Northern Ireland.
Relatively low-lying mountains surrounding a central plain epitomise Ireland's geography with several navigable rivers extending inland. The island has lush vegetation, a product of its mild but changeable oceanic climate, which avoids extremes in temperature. Thick woodlands covered the island until the 17th century. Today, it is one of the most deforested areas in Europe. There are twenty-six extant mammal species native to Ireland.
A Norman invasion in the Middle Ages gave way to a Gaelic resurgence in the 13th century. Over sixty years of intermittent warfare in the 1500s led to English dominance after 1603. In the 1690s, a system of Protestant English rule was designed to materially disadvantage the Catholic majority and Protestant dissenters, and was extended during the 18th century. In 1801, Ireland became a part of the United Kingdom. A war of independence in the early 20th century led to the partition of the island, creating the Irish Free State, which became increasingly sovereign over the following decades. Northern Ireland remained a part of the United Kingdom and saw much civil unrest from the late 1960s until the 1990s. This subsided following a political agreement in 1998. In 1973, both parts of Ireland joined the European Economic Community.
Irish culture has had a significant influence on other cultures, particularly in the fields of literature and, to a lesser degree, science and education. A strong indigenous culture exists, as expressed for example through Gaelic games, Irish music and the Irish language, alongside mainstream Western culture, such as contemporary music and drama, and a culture shared in common with Great Britain, as expressed through sports such as soccer, rugby, horse racing, and golf, and the English language.

Here are some interesting and rather ridiculous facts: In California, no vehicle can not exceed the speed of a hundred miles an hour, if it goes without a driver.
The city Kraford in New Jersey is prohibited to park boats and boats on the lawns.
The New Ark in the same state is a crime to sell ice cream after 6 pm, unless the buyer has no special help from the doctor.
In Denver Kolorodo officially forbidden to give the neighbors to use their vacuum cleaner.
In Delaware and forbidden to fly over any water reservoirs and resources, if only "in the airplane does not have sufficient supplies of water and drink." :)

The name Canada comes from the St. Lawrence Iroquoian word kanata, meaning "village" or "settlement". In 1535, indigenous inhabitants of the present-day Quebec City region used the word to direct French explorer Jacques Cartier to the village of Stadacona. Cartier later used the word Canada to refer not only to that particular village, but also the entire area subject to Donnacona (the chief at Stadacona); by 1545, European books and maps had begun referring to this region as Canada.

Fiji, officially the Republic of Fiji is an island nation in Melanesia in the South Pacific Ocean about 1,100 nautical miles (2,000 km; 1,300 mi) northeast of New Zealand's North Island. Its closest neighbours are Vanuatu to the west, France's New Caledonia to the southwest, New Zealand's Kermadec to the southeast, Tonga to the east, the Samoas, France's Wallis and Futuna to the northeast and Tuvalu to the north.

The majority of Fiji's islands were formed through volcanic activity started around 150 million years ago. Today, some geothermal activity still occurs on the islands of Vanua Levu and Taveuni. Fiji has been inhabited since the second millennium BC. The country comprises an archipelago of more than 332 islands, of which 110 are permanently inhabited, and more than 500 islets, amounting to a total land area of circa 18,300 square kilometres (7,100 sq mi). The two major islands, Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, account for 87% of the population of almost 850,000. The former contains Suva, the capital and largest city. Most of Fijians live on Viti Levu's coasts, either in Suva or in smaller urban centres. Viti Levu's interior is sparsely inhabited due to its terrain.http://uploads.ru/i/v/R/3/vR3Nk.jpg

I can not say I know that Canada is only known by the red maple leaf. My favorite TV series shot in the capital of Toronto. And I am grateful to Canadians for "Supernatural"! My life has changed thanks to Dean and Sam Winchester, their car Chevrolet Impala 1968 and the wonderful film set in Toronto. TV series "The Vampire Diaries" was also featured in this city. Perhaps even one this thing might be the very important reason to love Canada.

I want to tell you about Christmas in Australia.
Most Australians have been dreaming of a snowy Christmas. But the traditional  European  Christmas  is just  a myth for Australians. Christmas in Australia  happens in the summer. Here it's rare to find a flake of snow on Christmas cards. On Christmas  days  you'll  find a large percentage  of kids on the beach  playing with  their new surfboards, building sandcastels  rather than snowmen. There are loads of summer festivals with people celebrating Christmas  in carnival style.

City of Hobbits in New Zealand.
Everyone knows the epic novel by English writer JRR Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings." Most episodes of the trilogy of the same name was filmed in New Zealand, near the town of Matamata. The underground city was built for the filming. According to the script in it lived hobbits, little men less than a meter tall. After the end of the film crew left, but the city remained.
